About the Position:
We are in search of an experienced Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist (OHT) (+/-) adult scope to join our practice for 1-2 days a week. As an OHT/Hygienist, you will play a pivotal role in offering comprehensive oral care to our patients, while taking over majority of the recalls for our principal dentist and contributing to comprehensive treatment planning.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As an OHT or Hygienist on our team, your role encompasses:
In-Depth Oral Assessments: Conduct comprehensive oral assessments, including a detailed examination of teeth, gums, soft tissues, and TMJ. Hygienists will have the support of co-discovery with the dentist on the day.
Personalized Treatment Plans: Craft individualized and holistic treatment plans and oral hygiene recommendations for patients.
Preventative and Restorative Care: Administer preventative and restorative dental treatments, including those within your extended scope.(Those without extended scope may also apply and will be considered)
Patient Education: Offer informative guidance on oral hygiene practices and dietary habits.
Seamless Teamwork: Collaborate closely with our dentists and dental nurses to ensure smooth patient care and treatment coordination.
Recalls and Treatment Planning: Assume responsibility for all recalls with our busy principal dentist and contribute to comprehensive treatment planning.
Pediatric Patient Care: Showcase exceptional skills in working with pediatric patients and instilling positive oral hygiene practices.
Effective Communication: Demonstrate outstanding communication skills to connect with patients and provide them with a reassuring experience.
Your Qualifications/Requirements:
You will need:
A Bachelor's degree in Oral Health or Hygiene.
More than 1 year of experience in a private dental practice.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to forge strong connections with patients.
An in-depth understanding of oral health principles and preventative care.
A compassionate, patient-centric approach to delivering care.
A team-oriented mindset, well-suited to a multidisciplinary environment.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Confidence to deliver treatment options to patients in a private dental setting.

Pay: $45.00 – $70.00 per hour

We are open to support growth and learning but would also like for clinicians to be confident in making treatment recommendations to patients. Do you require mentoring?
For OHT applicants, have you performed restorative dental procedures, on patients in private practice?

Bachelor Degree (Required)
Experience:
Private Oral health therapy or Hygiene: 2 years (Preferred)
