About the role

As an Senior Research Scientist will play a pivotal role in advancing reproductive biology and fertility preservation techniques, with a primary focus on ovarian and testicular tissue research. This position will drive innovative research in ovarian tissue transport, in vitro maturation (IVM), testicular tissue biology, and grafting, as well as the development of artificial ovary systems. The Senior Research Scientist will lead projects aimed at refining and optimizing these techniques, contributing to both fundamental scientific knowledge and translational applications in reproductive medicine.

A regular day will see you:

  • Provide strategic leadership and foster a collaborative research environment focused on advancing Women's Health
  • Engage in professional development activities, membership of campus committees and contribute to/attend internal/external campus meetings and seminars
  • Effective training of research support staff where required
  • Participate in community and professional activities related to fertility preservation for children across Australia

About you

You'll bring with you:

  • Postdoctoral Research Scientist in a life science with a research background in areas including ovarian, testicular tissue, stem cell biology, In-Vitro Maturation (IVM) or relevant research field.
  • Would normally have been qualified (as defined) for at least eight years in the respective field or a closely related area of research
  • Proven track record with research outputs including demonstrated experience in applying for and achieving competitive research funding, such as the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) or equivalent.
  • Strong evidence of original intellectual input into research
  • Strong evidence of ability and desire to build a research career trajectory
