Inclusion and Wellbeing Officer

This is a permanent part-time position (0.9 FTE)

The Inclusion and Wellbeing Officer plays a key role in advancing a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable community. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the Council’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) and Regional Public Health Plan (RPHP). This role also leads the Council's response to emerging and ongoing social challenges, including domestic and family violence. Working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, the Inclusion and Wellbeing Officer provides expert social planning advice and supports the development of inclusive policies and practices across the organization.

This position reports to the Manager, Community Wellbeing and sits within a team of dedicated, fun and passionate community-focused professionals.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

A demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic community plans, particularly in areas of disability access, public health, or social policy.

A comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, frameworks, and trends impacting disability, inclusion, social justice, and wellbeing.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

A drive and passion to create positive change coupled with empathy, integrity and a commitment to inclusion.

This is a prescribed position. As part of Adelaide Hills Council’s Safe Environments Policy, a current Working with Children Check, and undertaking Child Safe Environment Training every three years, are requirements of the position.

A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the Council’s requirements will be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
