At Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS), we support individuals to live with dignity, choice, and independence. As we continue to grow, we’re expanding our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team and are currently seeking female Residential Care Workers (due to specific client needs) who are experienced, compassionate, and confident in supporting individuals with complex behaviours.

We provide structured, person-centred support to clients with psychosocial disabilities, mental health conditions, and complex behavioural presentations – including verbal and physical aggression, and environments where restrictive practices are in place.

🏠 About the Role

This part-time role (20–30+ hours/week) involves supporting participants with diverse and complex needs. You will play a key role in delivering consistent, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care in stable residential settings.

✅ What You’ll Be Doing

Provide personal care: showering, continence care, dressing, mobility

Support clients with complex behaviours, including aggression and restrictive practice environments

Administer medication and assist with healthcare routines

Encourage independence, confidence, and structured daily routines

Assist with domestic duties: cleaning, meal prep, laundry

Follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies, and incident protocols

Accurately complete daily documentation and progress notes

👤 About You

Experience supporting clients with complex behavioural needs

Calm, confident, and trauma-informed in high-pressure environments

Skilled in applying positive behaviour support and de-escalation

Flexible, reliable, and committed to ongoing learning

Able to work independently and as part of a team across different locations

📋 Requirements

Female applicants only (due to client care requirements)

Cert III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or related (highly regarded)

Experience with restrictive practices or behaviours of concern (highly regarded)

NDIS Worker Screening Check

First Aid & CPR

Valid Driver’s Licence and own reliable vehicle

COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations (as per public health orders)

Availability for a mix of morning, afternoon, and sleepover shifts
