About the Role:
As a Youth Justice Support Worker, you will work directly with young people aged 12–21 who have a history with the criminal justice system. You'll provide tailored, trauma-informed support to help them reintegrate into the community, engage in education or employment, and build positive relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Build trusting, respectful relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
Provide one-on-one mentoring, emotional support, and guidance.
Support young people in accessing education, training, employment, housing, and health services.
Liaise with youth justice case workers, families, and schools to create wraparound support.
Maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and case notes.
Promote positive decision-making, resilience, and life skills development.
What We’re Looking For:
A genuine passion for working with at-risk youth.
Experience in youth work, community services, justice, or a related field.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental under pressure.
Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Driver’s licence/access to a car (essential).
