Kickstart your career with a Dental Assistant Traineeship!
Join our dynamic and supportive team as a Dental Assistant Trainee! In this exciting role, you will receive hands-on training and guidance throughout your traineeship, developing the skills and competencies required to become a fully qualified Dental Assistant. You will be working within a Statewide Dental Service clinic and/or the Adelaide Dental Hospital, providing essential dental assisting duties to support both patients and dental professionals.
What is a Dental Assistant Traineeship?
Our 12-month traineeship program, starting in January 2026, combines on-the-job training under expert supervision with study towards your Certificate III in Dental Assisting through TAFE SA (fees payable by the trainee)
By the end of the traineeship, you will have mastered the essential skills required of a dental assistant, from chair-side support to infection control. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the dental industry while making a real difference to patient care and outcomes.
Who Can Apply?
- Individuals 17 years and above
- Completed Year 11 as a minimum.
- Must be a resident of South Australia

Essential Requirements:
- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
