About the role:
- Provide technical advice, services and consultancy to electrical workers, external clients and authorities.
- Ensure legislation, industry codes of practice, Australian Standards, documented work methods, and Safety Data Sheets are updated, controlled and communicated to stakeholders.
- Supervise the delivery of electrical construction, maintenance and upgrade work undertaken by QBuild, including assisting in the planning and delivery of projects through the efficient management of budgets, supervision and development of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
- Ensure application of safety management system, including facilitation of WHS audits; undertaking on-site inspections; ensuring job documentation includes WHS information; promoting a safe and healthy workplace; and monitoring, investigating and escalating electrical safety incidents, breaches, risks and concerns.
- Produce high quality tender and quotation documentation for electrical projects and prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotations and project trade packages; including material lists and construction programs.
- Coordinate and undertake the delivery of a high-quality condition assessment services for QBuild's clients, including inspections/surveys of building elements and construction materials including collecting samples of suspected asbestos containing materials for laboratory testing.
- Provide technical support and supervision to the region for small air-conditioning/refrigeration system installations.
- Supervise and monitor the use of risk assessment tools, the recording of electrical test results and the issuing of certificates of test where required by legislation.
- Coordinate the supervision and completion of competencies for electrical apprentices.
The skills you will need include:
- Demonstrated experience in domestic and commercial electrical installations to a high level of compliance and workmanship.
- Working knowledge and compliance with current work health, safety, and environmental legislation codes of practice, including knowledge, and understanding of AS/NZ3000 (The Wiring Rules) and other Australian Electrical standards, Electrical Safety Act 2002, Electrical Safety Regulations 2013, applicable Electrical Codes of Practice and Ergon/Energex connections and metering manuals.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence - Mechanic or Fitter/Mechanic.
- Electrical trade qualification.
- Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card.
- Current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and low voltage rescue certificate.
- Current, valid “C” class driver's licence or equivalent.
