About the role

Due to Company growth, Hispec Heavy Haulage are on the hunt for reliable Heavy Haulage Drivers to join our dynamic team as our "truck drivers" are the ones who keep projects moving.

Based at Edinburgh North in South Australia, you will be responsible for Transporting Switchrooms and other items across Australia and to ensure long, challenging routes are safely negotiated and that cargo arrives on site when is it needed.
The successful candidate must be flexible with remote travel over extended periods away from home. This full-time position is crucial in supporting our road transport operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of oversized and heavy loads.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate and manoeuvre MC platform and float trailers to transport oversized and heavy loads

Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain the equipment in excellent working condition

Plan and execute transport routes, taking into account road conditions, weight restrictions, and other logistical factors

Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries

Collaborate with the broader transportation team to coordinate logistics and overcome challenges

Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

Valid MC licence with a minimum of 5 years' experience operating platform and float trailers

Strong knowledge of heavy haulage equipment, maintenance, and safety procedures

Ability to read and interpret route maps, load plans, and transportation documents

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to navigate complex logistical situations

Commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring the safe transport of goods

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
