Our client is seeking a skilled and security conscious Full Stack Web Developer with strong experience in PHP development (current & legacy frameworks) and secure coding practices (OWASP).

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining modern, scalable, and secure web applications across both front-end and back-end stacks in a data led business.

You will collaborate with peers to deliver reliable software solutions, with an emphasis on performance, usability, and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality web applications using PHP and related technologies (LAMP stack, AWS infrastructure, GIT, Docker, SQL / DB skills, API knowledge).
• Develop and maintain both front-end (HTML, CSS, JQuery) and back-end (PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, LAMP stack) components.
• Implement secure coding practices in accordance with OWASP standards to protect against security vulnerabilities in an ISO 27001:2022 compliant structure.
• Understanding of data driven processes & technologies in a big data environment (Data orchestration, ETL processes).
• Review and refactor code to improve performance, maintainability, and security.
• Collaborate across the team and with other developers to deliver functional and attractive digital experiences.
• Participate in code reviews and team meetings as part of an Agile development process.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues within test, development & production environments.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

• 3+ years experience in full stack web development, with a strong emphasis on PHP.
• Proven experience with secure coding practices and frameworks aligned with OWASP.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end libraries (e.g. React, Vue.js, or similar)
• Experience with MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication (OAuth2, JWT), and session management.
• Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
• Strong debugging, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with AWS environments and basic DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization and CI/CD tools (Docker).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience).
