About the role

We are seeking a part-time Cleaner (15 hours per week) to join our team at the Perth Observatory in Bickley, WA 6076. As our Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our observatory facilities, ensuring a safe, pleasant, and welcoming environment for our staff, volunteers, and visitors.

What you'll be doing

Thoroughly cleaning and sanitising all observatory buildings and common areas on a regular basis

Replenishing and restocking cleaning supplies as needed

Identifying and reporting any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel

Adhering to all health and safety protocols and procedures

Providing exceptional customer service and a welcoming presence to all who visit the observatory

What we're looking for

Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role, preferably within a similar community or public facility

Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation

Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently

A proactive and flexible approach to your work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with occasional additional hours during special events or busy periods (by agreement).

A genuine commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive visitor experience

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
