Our client is a large privately owned Australian Freight Transport Company founded in 2008 which specialises in road transport services, wharf cartage and container handling, as well as warehousing and distribution.

Due to rapid expansion and increased work volumes, they are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator up to 16 Tonne/Reach Stacker (Mobicon) Operator for their Dandenong Depot (Kitchen Road) working Day shift from 6:00am Monday–Friday in a full-time permanent capacity

About the Role

The primary objective of the role is to safely load and unload the containers with the forklift ranging from 2.5 - 16 Tonne and also driving the Mobicon to arrange containers in the yard and also unload containers, via stripping and de-choking the containers throughout your working day. Most container unloading is done by forklift, but you will need to be a warehouse allrounder and be able to do admin tasks also as part of the role.

Forklifts range from 2.5 tonne to 16 tonne and experience with grab and also steel experience would be advantageous.

Also, a CN licence to able to operate the Mobicon container lifter.

You will have the ability and mindset of “safety first “whilst completing your movements productively and efficiently.

You will be working in a professional environment within a small 2-man team. We need you to work well within the team, have an excellent work ethic and attitude and be able to work regular overtime when required.

Core responsibilities

Safe loading and unloading of containers with LF forklifts up to 16 tonne and Mobicon

Manual unloading and loading containers and warehouse duties.

Perform routine pre- start inspections on Forklift and equipment.

Demonstrating a high level of safety and process compliance at all times

Recommend any process or system improvements

Skills and experience

Proven operational experience with forklifts LF and CN forklift operation

Experience with forklifts up to 16 tonnes

Experience with grab and also steel experience would be advantageous.

Physically fit, willing and able to do regular labouring.

Intermediate computer and administration skills

Be able and willing to complete overtime when required.

Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.

Work autonomously with ease and thrive in pressure situations.
