Duties within this role:

• Preparing financial statements and tax returns for trusts, companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Managing SMSF with large investment portfolios
• The opportunity to work on consolidated groups, carry forward tax losses, R&D tax incentives, Div. 293 and SBE depreciation
• Tailored tax planning strategies, including dividends, trust distributions and beneficiary accounts, unit purchases and remissions, super contributions, and pension withdrawals
• CGT, FBT and Div. 7A calculations
• Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns
• Foreign exchange and small business exemptions
• Assisting junior staff members as and when required
• Resolving ATO issues

Skills and personal attributes:

• Must have a minimum of 5 + years of experience within a reputable Australian-based accounting firm
• Must have experience with SMSF, trusts, companies and working on group structures
• Experience with BGL and APS is an advantage, but not essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Have excellent attention to detail and work ethic
• Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident
