DevOps Engineer – NSW Government

$1100 per day
Contract until September 2027
CBD Location + WFH (hybrid)

Opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our platform and engineering team. This role is focused on delivering secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure that empowers our product teams to build, deploy, and run applications with speed and confidence.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll work across our cloud-native stack with a focus on container orchestration, CI/CD, security automation, and AWS infrastructure. You'll also play a key role in mentoring internal teams and sharing DevOps best practices across the engineering function.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing team at Seek. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical depth in container orchestration, DevSecOps, cloud-native infrastructure, and a collaborative mindset. You’ll play a key part in shaping and supporting the platform that underpins SEEK’s core products, while also upskilling and mentoring internal teams.

Purpose: migration project

Core role requirements are:

• Deep understanding and experience of containers orchestration/management platforms - AWS ROSA or OpenShift.
• Strong Kubernetes experience.
• Strong DevSecOps experience, including Git (GitLab preferred).
• Strong CI/CD pipelines experience (including some Terraform is preferred).
• Strong AWS Cloud experience (and data services preferred: RDS, Redis, RabbitMQ, SQS, DynamoDB, S3).
• Linux OS skills.
• Docker/OCI skills.
• Containerised application experience (Java/Kotlin, Node etc.), including troubleshooting of apps in containers.
• “Train-the-trainer” skills for technical training of other internal staff.
