Perth’s favourite Italian restaurant, located at the Holiday Inn West Perth, has its home at the former residence of one of Perth’s fashion moguls, Walsh's Menswear. Built in 1902, the heritage-listed building was carefully restored on the exterior to accommodate the modern restaurant, whilst paying homage to the iconic history it holds.

What’s the job?

As the Food & Beverage Team Leader, you will assist the Restaurant Manager in motivating and developing the staff to provide exceptional branded service and foster the desired workplace culture. Collaborating with the Restaurant Manager & Head Chef, you'll support to manage the daily operations of Julios Restaurant, Room Service and Conference and Events. You will work closely with other hotel departments and your team to consistently seek out and implement improvements in product quality, and guest and colleague experience.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

  • Deliver Exceptional Guest Service: Create a warm and welcoming environment, provide personalized service aligned with IHG True Hospitality service standards, handle card transactions, serve food and drinks professionally, and assist with Room Service, C&E and bar operations.
  • Support Daily Operations & Teamwork: Collaborate across departments, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, and assist colleagues with ad-hoc duties to ensure seamless service.
  • Prepare Julio’s service including opening/set-up, clearing, re-setting and closing procedures ensuring responsible financial transaction handling.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager with colleague training and development, assist with scheduling and timesheet approvals, and support with inventory and stocktakes.
  • Cooperate and drive the implementation of workplace health, safety and wellbeing-related initiatives.

What We need from you:

  • Demonstrated experience in a restaurant and/or hotel environment is essential, with the ability to stay composed and positive under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and a love for engaging with guests to create memorable dining moments.
  • Time management skills, delegation, a drive for results and strong employee engagement skills.
  • Communication skills – guest will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to.
  • Ability to work independently while being a supportive team player across the entire hotel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards in presentation, hygiene, and service.
  • Flexibility– night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
  • Previous experience leading and supporting a team is highly regarded.
  • Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – Approved Manager Certificate with RSA certification & Food Safety Certification required.
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate.
  • Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights.
