About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to work collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Consultant of the Infection Control Unit to deliver advanced clinical expertise and care in infection control. Additionally, this role will support Infection Control standards by applying best practices, providing education, demonstrating leadership and portfolio management to ensure safe practices and high-quality outcomes for patients, consumers, visitors, and staff.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Respond appropriately to, and provide support and direction to manage, sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/person using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
  • Integrate knowledge of infection control and organisational key performance indicators into clinical decision making on a daily basis to achieve best practice outcomes for patients/clients/residents/consumers.
  • Demonstrate high level communication skills in supporting the interprofessional team to achieve high standards of consumer care and organisational key performance indicators.
