Join our team as a Strategic Leisure Facilites Officer
Be the driving force behind maximising our community's access to exceptional aquatic and foreshore facilities. In this customer-centric role, you'll forge vital partnerships with lifesaving clubs, yacht clubs, and stakeholders to develop strategic plans that optimize usage and engagement.
About the role
We are looking for a Strategic Leisure Facilities Officer to join our team. In this role, you will forge powerful partnerships with foreshore clubs whilst unlocking the full potential of our leisure facilities through strategic planning, driving multi-use opportunities and diverse programming that celebrates inclusion and diversity.
What you’ll deliver
- Develop strong working relationships with key leisure facility stakeholders such as foreshore-based clubs and services, facility operators, facility users and industry governing bodies.
- Work with stakeholders to support increased opportunities for the community to participate in aquatic, leisure and water safety programs and services.
- Provide input into Council’s corporate and strategic planning to ensure that future aquatic, leisure, and water safety needs are appropriately considered.
- Support communication between internal departments, clubs/users and the broader community during the delivery of leisure facility capital and maintenance projects, from early identification, priority and vision setting, consultation and engagement through to project delivery, handover, and evaluation.
Your Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in sport and recreation with some relevant experience or
- Less formal qualification with substantial relevant experience
- Experience working with foreshore clubs, industry bodies, school groups and the community is desirable
