Great opportunity to join Forensic Intervention Services

Make a positive difference in keeping our community safe

Attractive salary between $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation

Exciting opportunity to join Forensic Intervention Services as a Senior Clinical Advisor in the Service Delivery and Practice team within the Service Development Branch on an ongoing basis.

What does Forensic Intervention Services do?

As a division of Corrections Victoria, Forensic Intervention Services is a specialist program area that provides people in custody and in the community with evidence-based screening, assessment, and offence-specific intervention services to support their rehabilitation. In doing so, Forensic Intervention Services is a critical component of the department’s strategy to reduce reoffending and contribute to community safety.

What will the Senior Clinical Advisor do?

The Service Development area provides oversight, monitoring and reform of service delivery across the state, including across both prisons and community corrections. The Service Development Branch has further responsibilities of managing Clinical Projects (Research and Evaluation), Family Violence Perpetrator Interventions, and for the management and maintenance of the technological systems that support service delivery and continuous improvement.

As the Senior Clinical Advisor, you will provide authoritative advice on complex clinical and operational issues relating to delivery of offending behaviour interventions across Victoria, and work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, including clinical staff across the State, to develop and embed ongoing process and quality improvements in clinical service delivery.

What skills should a Senior Clinical Advisor have?

As our ideal candidate you will have demonstrated experience in the planning of program and services addressing offending behaviour as well as an understanding of, and experience in, assessment and use of psychometric tools. You will provide authoritative advice on complex clinical and operational issues relating to the delivery of interventions to people involved in the justice system and manage a range of projects to support the effective and consistent delivery of clinical services across the State.

You will have awareness of key issues impacting the delivery of programs and services within Corrections Victoria, and demonstrated understanding of relevant frameworks for rehabilitation within the justice system. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships and understanding of contemporary forensics interventions.
