The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Senior Development Manager to own day-to-day delivery for a multidisciplinary squad (3 developers, a business analyst and QA). Reporting to the CTO & CEO, you’ll turn high-level product ideas into shippable increments, coach the team on engineering excellence, and ensure our Clean Architecture-based, cloud-native stack stays world-class.

What You’ll Do

Own sprint delivery – run Agile ceremonies, keep the board flowing in Jira and hit a production release every 14 days.

Lead & mentor – set coding standards, give actionable feedback, and grow engineers toward seniority.

Architect & code-review – guide design of our Clean Architecture .NET 9 microservices, Nextjs front-end and Postgres data layer on AWS.

Maintain architectural boundaries – enforce Clean Architecture separation of concerns, keeping domain logic isolated from infrastructure and UI.

Raise the bar on quality – champion CI/CD, test automation and observability; make “green build” the default.

Plan capacity & roadmap – align team velocity with business priorities, flag risks early, and keep stakeholders in the loop.

Optimise cloud performance – own AWS best practices, IaC, and secure deployments.

Continuously improve process – refine metrics, retrospectives and documentation so we get a little better every sprint.

About You

Must-Have

8 + yrs professional software engineering, 3 + yrs leading teams

Proven record of shipping production releases every 2 weeks

Deep expertise in AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS, IaC), .NET 9, Nextjs/React, PostgreSQL (or comparable RDBMS)

Hands-on experience building systems with Clean Architecture

Mastery of Jira, Agile/Scrum, and metrics-driven delivery

Exceptional organisational skills & bias for action

Clear, concise communicator (written & verbal)

Nice-to-Have

Experience in fintech / insurtech or other regulated environments

Exposure to gRPC, REST and event-driven architectures

Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (via CDK) and GitHub Actions

Experience using AI models to increase code output and quality
