- SCHCADS Award LV4: $44 to $48 per hour + super

Your Role
As an AOD Peer Worker & Care Navigator, your lived experience will play a central role in supporting others through their recovery. You will walk alongside people on their journey, using your own story in a safe and empowering way to build trust, provide guidance, and enhance support through the AOD Hub.
About the AOD Hub
The New England AOD Hub is a new and innovative service funded by NSW Health and operated by St Vincent de Paul Society NSW. Designed to meet the unique needs of people in rural and regional communities, the Hub will deliver tailored support to individuals affected by alcohol and other drug use. Working in close partnership with Armajun Aboriginal Health Service and other local agencies, the Hub will focus on supporting Aboriginal communities, people facing homelessness, those with co-existing mental health conditions and people involved with the justice system.
Your Responsibility
Provide case management and care coordination to people accessing the Hub
Use your lived experience to inspire hope and resilience in others
Promote a culture of inclusion and reduce stigma around AOD use
Work closely with Armajun Aboriginal Health Service and other partners
Support intake assessments and help individuals navigate access to services
Deliver psychoeducation and group-based AOD programs
Ensure all services are culturally appropriate and person-led
Contribute to the development of the Consumer Advisory Committee
Collect feedback and outcomes to support service improvement
Profile description:
You Will Need
Certificate IV (or higher) in a relevant area or at least 2 years' experience in the community services sector
A personal lived experience of AOD use and recovery
Willingness to share your story respectfully to support others
An understanding of the barriers faced by people affected by AOD use
Strong communication and collaboration skills
A current Australian driver's licence
