We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) to join a highly motivated team based at the Mount Isa Hospital to provide anaesthetic services within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
This is an opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest to you within anaesthesia (including obstetrics and regional), ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing and support continued improvement of health services by participating in quality improvement opportunities.
The ideal candidate:
- Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthsia for obstetrics is required.
- Scope of Practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years or younger) is desirable.
- An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients.
- An interest in, or experience in, regional anaesthesia and acute and / or chronic pain management.
- Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
- Current registration with/or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.

Benefits
A permanent role is on offer with job security and flexible hours / roster arrangements negotiable (FIFO available).
Pro rata remuneration package (based on f/t equivalent value) from $525,850 up to $650,288 p.a.
- Base salary rates between $210,332 and $266,677 p.a. (f/t) (L18-L27)
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance 50% base p.a. salary
- Regional and Rural attraction allowance 15% base p.a. salary
- Inaccessibility allowance of $34,500 p.a.
- Motor vehicle allowance
- 5 weeks p.a. annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Professional Development allowance

- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.

- VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis.
- 6 months probation may apply.
