Your opportunity
The Nurse Practitioner – Cunnamulla, Western Qld, will deliver an advanced level of care and specialised clinical expertise within the Emergency Department and Primary Care Clinics in accordance with his/her scope of practice within the rural and remote context. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients in a rural/remote setting. The NP will have the authority to order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, and provide direct referral to other healthcare professionals. The NP will work with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care to clients in acute, community and primary care settings within the Charleville group but predominantly in Cunnamulla.
Travel across SWHHS maybe required and work both day and evening shifts as rostered.
The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.
Cunnamulla is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:
- An annual isolation bonus paid annually!
- Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
- Additional annual leave per annum!
Please note: Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) implications may apply, it is recommended that individuals seek independent financial advice.
If you are looking for a sea change, you might find your home away from home in the outback town of Cunnamulla. Surfing the sand dunes, relaxing in the artesian springs nearby, having a mudbath at Eulo, exploring national parks and fishing the Warrego river are all on the agenda in this red dirt outback escape.
