Lucky Prawn is a sensory expression of childhood memories at your local Chinese restaurant. The sounds and smell of sizzling beef, the curiosity of deep fried ice-cream, the joy of spinning the lazy Susan until dad clips you over the ear (well, it was the ‘80s).
Established in early 2022 and have been trail brazing in the hospitality scene. We are always looking to increase our portfolio, thus ensuring on-going career development and promotion, for those employees that display positive intent, respect and a willingness to learn.
About the role
This is a full-time role for a Commis Chef / Chef De Partie at the Lucky Prawn Restaurant.
You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring food safety standards are met.
Working alongside our Executive and Head Chef, you will be given a fantastic opportunity to develop your current culinary skillset.
To be successful in the role you will need to be:
Competent in all aspects of pans, hot larder and deep fryer and understand how to use them.
An excellent team player.
Experience in a similar role.
Flexible availability.
Have the ability to work under pressure during peak service times.
Possess excellent cooking knowledge, food safety standards and demonstrate a passion for food.
Possess excellent communication, and time management skills
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Trade qualification or equivalent
Dedication to the production, preparation, and presentation of dishes of the top quality
Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
Team player attitude and willingness to work in a large and diverse team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Adhere to strict stock rotation and minimum wastage guidelines.
Ability to maintain a clean, hygienic and safe working environment.
