About the role
As a Litter & Traffic Control Officer, you will maintain the cleanliness of the RDF and neighbouring areas to comply with EPA requirements.
You will work closely with other teams to direct traffic and ensure appropriate behaviour of all present by being helpful and diligent in observing traffic flow and the nature of waste deposited into transfer station.
All of your actions will be in accordance with safety requirements including Job Safety Assessment and Safe Work Method Statements.
What your day will look like
Picking up litter at the Wyndham Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre and surrounding properties
Keeping offices, the ticket box, lunchrooms and toilets at the RDF clean and tidy
Maintaining the recycling area clean and safe manner
Mowing grass and using a whipper snip around transfer station and ticket box
Performing traffic control duties at the transfer station
Assisting the public in reversing vehicles and trailers
Engaging with the public and encouraging them to recycle
Ensuring that only allowable wastes are deposited into the transfer station
When appropriate, assisting the public to unload recyclables in correct bins
When appropriate, assisting the public to unload into pit
What you will bring
