The role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an IP Lawyer OR Trademark Attorney with 5+ years PAE to lead and grow a ready-made practice. Collegiate team with a built-out precedents library. Separate client manages to handle inbound enquiries, admin and support quoting - giving you more time to focus on high-value legal work and client strategy, removing some key pressure points.

Step into a leadership role leading the Trademark division, currently supported by 1-2 junior IP lawyers and a paralegal. With strong workflow and strategic vision, this is a rare opportunity to shape and grow your own team. Work alongside and learn from highly experienced IP professionals with direct exposure to strategic thinking, mentorship, and top-tier trade mark expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising clients on the registrability and availability of trademarks
• Preparing and filing Australian and international trademark applications
• Managing national and international trademark portfolios
• Handling trademark oppositions, non-use actions, and other proceedings before IP Australia
• Drafting submissions, evidence of use, and responses to adverse report examinations
• Advising on branding strategy, infringement risks, and enforcement options
• Working with foreign associates on global protection strategies
• Supporting commercial IP matters e.g., Deeds of Assignment, Licence Agreements, IP Sale Agreements
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships

About you:

• 5+ years' experience as a Trademark Attorney or IP Lawyer
• Ability to work in a remote team environment
