Your new role
Full-time, Part-time, Ongoing located at Deakin, ACT
Annual Salary between $110,110.00 to $116,432.57 plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.
Post Separation Services (PSS) refers to any family dispute resolution (FDR) service, family relationship service, Children’s Contact Service (in some locations) or other services relating to separated or separating families delivered by Relationships Australia Canberra & Region (RACR). It also refers to any group work or project that operates as a post separation service. This role supports the Manager, PSS by overseeing the delivery and quality of mediation services.
Duties:
In consultation with the Manager, PSS, the Senior Practitioner is responsible for:
· operational support, including case review oversight and escalation for family dispute resolution practitioners (FDRPs) to ensure practice is consistent with Family Law (Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners) Regulations 2025.
· professional practice support and coaching for FDRPs and Family Advisors in matters including but not limited to family and domestic violence, child safety, mandatory reporting and client interactions.
· leading and/or co-mediating complex family dispute resolution cases.
· provision of family dispute resolution services, including to clients in regional areas, through a variety of channels including face to face or virtual, dependent on service and client need.
· facilitating induction, training, supervision and ongoing guidance for practice for FDRPs and Family Advisors.
· actively working with the Training Coordinator to support trainee FDRPs and student placements.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Current accreditation with the Attorney General’s Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
2. Demonstrated experience in mediation and child inclusive practice and knowledge of domestic violence, crisis intervention models, grief, and loss in the context of family separation and child development and legislative requirements of mandatory reporting.
3. Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of practitioners that deliver mediation services to achieve success against performance and contractual requirements.
4. Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, sound organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to integrate the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations into own learning and work practices.
