A leading national underground mining services contractor is currently seeking skilled Heavy Diesel Fitters to join their team at a major underground gold mining operation located approximately 20km west of Kalgoorlie, WA.

This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity, with the successful candidate starting on a labour hire basis through a reputable recruitment partner, with the intention to transition into a full-time permanent position with the mining contractor based on performance and fit.

🔧 Position Overview

• Role: Heavy Diesel Fitter
• Roster: 8:6 / 7:7 rotating days and nights (Thursday changeovers)
• Pay Rates: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour + superannuation (labour hire rates)
• Permanent Rates (upon conversion): $70.00 - $80.00ph + super + leave entitlements
• Location: Mungari Operations (20km west of Kalgoorlie)
• Accommodation: Camp and meals provided at Kurrajong Village (ensuite rooms, air-conditioned)

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs on a fleet of underground mining equipment, including:

• Normet Spraymecs & Agitators
• Surface Agitator
• IT Loaders and Light Vehicles
• Surface and underground workshop duties
• Field servicing, diagnostics, and fault finding
• Night shift may involve working autonomously; day shift includes mentoring an apprentice

✅ What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic (HD or LV with relevant UG experience)
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical knowledge
• Ability to interpret schematics and work independently
• Safety-first mindset and reliable work ethic

Desirable:

• Experience with underground hard rock mining equipment
• Drill servicing experience
• Dual trade (Diesel Fitter / Auto Electrician)
