We are on the hunt for a knowledgeable and practical Exercise Scientist to join our team at Concrete & Onetribe.
Working closely with our senior mentors and diverse client base, you will assess, design, and implement scientific training programs that showcase what’s possible through exercise, all while helping to build a community founded on genuine health. You will bring an analytical mindset and be driven by data-informed decision-making to achieve tangible client success.

The Role
As our Exercise Scientist, you will become a key authority in our application of evidence-based practice. You will be the custodian of our clients' progress, creating inspiring, science-backed programs while building a community that is educated, engaged, and loyal to their health journey.
You will play a critical role in supporting the team as we gear up for our next phase of growth, developing programs and strategies to increase client adherence and success. You will use the best systems and data-based insights to understand our clients' needs and maximise their physical outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
Client Assessment & Program Design
Conducting comprehensive initial client consultations, functional movement screening, and goal-setting sessions.
Designing and implementing safe, effective, and individualised exercise programs grounded in scientific principles (physiology, biomechanics, motor control).
Adapting training methodologies for a diverse client base, including NDIS participants and those with specific health considerations.
Staying ahead of current research and applying insights to continuously improve program design and client outcomes
Performance Monitoring & Application
Analysing key client performance metrics (strength, endurance, mobility, etc.) and providing actionable feedback to refine training strategies and maximise progress.
Managing your client portfolio, ensuring clear communication, progress tracking, and program periodisation.
Educating clients on correct exercise technique, the 'why' behind their program, and principles of long-term health.
Professional & Team Contribution
Maintaining detailed and accurate client records.
Collaborating with and supporting other team members to foster a culture of learning and excellence.
Contributing to the high standards of safety, respect, and professionalism within the gym environment.
About You
You’re a positive, solution-oriented professional with a strong sense of ownership over your work. You bring an analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making at the core of your practice, as well as a flair for communicating complex ideas simply.
You live and breathe exercise science and stay across current industry research. You possess excellent written and interpersonal skills and know how to engage and motivate people effectively. You thrive in a fast-paced, practical environment and bring a proactive approach to your work.
You will bring:
A completed or near-completed Bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Human Movement, or a Personal Trainer Cert IV
An analytical mindset that thrives on measuring key performance metrics and an ability to provide actionable insights to refine training strategies.
Demonstrable understanding of exercise prescription for diverse populations. Experience with NDIS participants is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and an ability to educate and motivate clients effectively.
Proficiency in maintaining client records and using tools like Google Drive and Excel.
A valid First Aid and CPR certification.
A full driver's license and your own reliable vehicle.
Excellent project management, time management, and organisational skills.
