Lucon Industries is a Victorian based engineering company looking to expand its Western Australia operations and is looking for skilled and reliable Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, and Riggers to support mechanical and structural maintenance works at some of Western Australia’s largest container terminals in Fremantle.

These are casual positions with potential for ongoing permanent work, national travel, and even international opportunities. All tools and PPE supplied. Full training provided. Great opportunity for someone looking for extra hours outside of FIFO roster.

About the Role

You’ll join an experienced team carrying out essential maintenance and upgrade works on:

Ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes

Mobile harbour cranes

Trailers

Port and heavy industrial infrastructure

Jaw, cone crushers

Screens

Conveyer systems

Duties include:

Mechanical maintenance (gearboxes, motors, brakes, rope changes, hydraulics)

Welding and structural repairs (booms, gantries, trolley rails, structural improvements)

Rigging, lifting and installation of heavy structural components

Shutdown, breakdown and planned maintenance works

Working at heights and in confined spaces

What We’re Looking For

Trade-qualified Boilermakers, Fitters, or experienced Riggers

Experience in heavy industry – ports, marine, mining, or quarry preferred

High-risk work licenses (Rigging, Dogging, EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space) are highly regarded

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work from plans or instructions

Commitment to safety, teamwork and delivering high-quality work

Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and travel as required

Don’t have port experience? No problem – full training and upskilling provided.
