About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner (BSP), you will provide specialist services across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, and Hunter region, with a flexible mix of community and office-based work. You will:

✅ Deliver High-Quality Behavioural Supports – Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop tailored Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans.
✅ Prioritise Ethical Interventions – Reduce behaviours of concern using evidence-based strategies, minimising restrictive practices.
✅ Work Collaboratively – Partner with families, stakeholders, and support teams to create sustainable, person-led outcomes.
✅ Ensure Compliance – Maintain documentation aligned with NDIS Commission requirements and the NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking Registered BSPs, ideally at the Proficient level. However, if you are not yet registered, you must have commenced or researched the NDIS BSP application pathway:

We’re interested in practitioners from diverse clinical or allied health backgrounds such as Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, or Mental Health.

You’ll bring:

A strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices frameworks

Experience with NDIS participants and disability/mental health supports

Excellent clinical writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Confidence in autonomous community-based work

Essential Requirements

Relevant degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science or related field

NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (Proficient preferred) OR clear steps underway to apply for Core/Proficient registration

NDIS Worker Screening Check

NSW Working with Children Check

Completion of NDIS Orientation Module

OCG Child Safe Training (or willingness to complete)
