The Team:
The safety and quality unit in mental health services plays a crucial role in supporting and reviewing the delivery of care to ensure it is both effective and safe for patients. The unit continuously monitors and evaluates the quality of care provided, recommending improvements based on data and evidence to enhance patient outcomes. Compliance with national standards and best practice models of care are key elements of our work, that help to maintain high levels of care and safety for patients and staff. These efforts collectively aim to create a safe, therapeutic environment that supports recovery and well-being for individuals receiving mental health care.
The Role:
You will need:
- Broad clinical and operational experience within a complex health care environment encompassing acute, sub-acute and primary health services; with a demonstrated understanding of patient safety.
- Extensive knowledge of and commitment to continuous quality improvement and accreditation processes including risk management, undertaking investigations, preparation of witness statements, the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other accreditation activities.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication, mediation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to effectively liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders with a demonstrated ability to influence and motivate staff.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances:
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
