The Opportunity:

Hunter New England LHD is seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants, VMOs, Staff Specialists, or CMOs In-Charge to provide clinical leadership across its emergency departments.

You’ll work either in charge or alongside other senior ED staff, depending on the site, and manage a broad range of acute presentations with the support of nursing and junior medical teams.

Clinical Environment:

• Step into autonomous ED roles where your clinical expertise is trusted and your decisions drive patient outcomes
• Manage a wide-ranging case mix including trauma, paediatrics, mental health, and high-acuity resuscitation
• Collaborate with experienced emergency nurses, retrieval teams, and junior staff, or work solo depending on the site
• Access procedural opportunities and work in environments equipped with EMR, structured handovers, and clear escalation pathways
• Enjoy a balance of clinical challenge and independence, ideal for doctors who thrive in senior roles without the administrative burden of metro hospitals

Eligibility Criteria:

• AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
• FACEM or equivalent for consultants, or extensive ED experience for CMO ICs
• NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing
