Plumbing Apprenticeship Field Officer/Mentor
Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia
Posted 13 days ago
Plumbing Apprentices Queensland (PAQ) is a Group Training Organisation (GTO) and is a division of the Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia - the peak employer body for the plumbing industry. As a niche GTO we specialise in providing apprentice/trainee labour to the plumbing industry whilst supporting our apprentices/trainees through to the successful completion of their qualification.
As an Apprenticeship Field Officer/Mentor you will manage a caseload of apprentices/trainees from recruitment & on boarding, to providing mentoring support throughout the apprenticeship to ensure they remain in work and current with their training requirements. You will work with our Host Employers to ensure they have the apprentice labour they require, when they need it. You will undertake regular site visits to monitor the progress of your apprentices, provide feedback on performance and ensure they are working within a safe environment.
Helping apprentices achieve a trade qualification is a rewarding career for our Field Officers and for our apprentices it can be pivotal in providing them a secure and financially rewarding career.
If you feel passionate about making a difference and you're a can-do, agile person who wants to network and make things happen, this could be the job for you.
Who are you?
You are a natural people-person, unafraid of connecting with people and helping to bring them on board. If you don't like video conferencing, standing up in front of a crowd or if talking on the phone gives you the shiver's, this is certainly not the job for you.
You have some experience in the construction industry and know how it works and the people you will encounter. You may be qualified tradesperson looking to get off the tools but wanting to remain in the industry.
You might be experienced in dealing and connecting with school leavers and help guide them through life decisions, or someone who has some transferrable experience in Recruitment, Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety or Counselling. You are a strategic and relationship-based thinker who can help guide people.
You have excellent organisational skills and can think about how best to use your time. You work efficiently and just make things happen - whatever it takes.
You're comfortable using technology, able to use a phone and competent in basic office programs on a computer. Nothing fancier than this is required - but you will need to assist in compiling regular reports so you will need to have good written communication skills.
You love a small and tight-knit team environment where we all kick goals and don't make excuses. You can think outside the box, help and be helped and ensure we achieve our goals.
You want to work in a really fulfilling role that will provide challenge and diversity, with no two days the same.
