Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services now has an opportunity for an experienced Administration Assistant to join their team in Broome, WA on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Kimberley Supports Regional manager, you will provide essential reception and administrative support to the Kimberley Supports unit within KAMS. This role is responsible for delivering professional front desk services, coordinating staff and client bookings, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the day-to-day operations of programs including disability, aged care, and early childhood development.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Deliver a high standard reception service to Kimberley Supports clients, staff, and visitors
- Coordinate and maintain consultation/meeting rooms booking system.
- Schedule client appointment using booking system.
- Liaise with relevant staff regarding vehicle bookings.
- Maintain unit vehicle booking system, including taking booking requests.
- Personally demonstrate through consistent behavior understanding of, respect for, and compliance with culturally appropriate ways of working with Aboriginal clients, staff and communities.
What you'll need to be successful
To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate your ability to provide a high standard of confidential secretarial and administrative support, including a high level of word processing skills.
You must have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and a diverse range of health and community service providers
Your knowledge of Aboriginal culture and Indigenous health will be crucial to your success in the role, in addition to an understanding of the primary health care and population health issues that affect Aboriginal and Indigenous peoples.
As you will be liaising with a range of internal stakeholders in addition to government and non-government agencies at multiple levels, you must possess comprehensive interpersonal and intercultural communication and negotiation skills.
While not mandatory, previous knowledge and understanding of the issues and barriers families with disabilities face will be highly advantageous to your application.
Please note: You must possess a current Australian C Class Driver's Licence.

For your hard work and dedication to this role, you will receive a base salary of $64,329+ super.
In addition to this salary, you will have access to a further host of benefits, including:
- Accommodation allowance of $7,800;
- Electricity allowance of $1,440 p.a;
- Access to an annual airfare after 12 months of employment to the value of $1,285 p.a; and,
- District allowance of $2,920 p.a. (single) or $5,840 p.a. (double);

About Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services
KAMSC (Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council) is a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS), providing a collective voice for a network of member ACCHS from towns and remote communities across the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) established in the Kimberley in 1978, and was followed by the East Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service (EKAMS, in Kununurra) in 1984. The vision for a unified voice, to provide centralised resources and collective advocacy for the sector, achieved reality in 1986 with the establishment of KAMSC.
