We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented machinist to join our start-up business, Vanketo.co, which specialises in handmaking magnetic window shades and other products for campervans.

Training will be provided to ensure you’re fully up to speed with our specific requirements and high-quality standards. You’ll be working in a creative, supportive environment with the opportunity to grow within the company.

Responsibilities:

1. Creating New Window Templates: Design and create templates for new window cover and fly screen models.

2. Handling Material Cutting: Precisely cut materials according to specifications to ensure quality and fit.

3. Sewing and Assembling Products: Utilise industrial sewing machines to assemble products with a high level of craftsmanship.

4. Product Development: Engage in the innovation and improvement of our current products. You will also have the opportunity to develop new products that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Requirements:

• Experience with industrial sewing machines (5+ years preferred)

• Preferably with experience sewing nautical, awnings or heavy-duty materials.

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Location: Byron Bay

Contract: Minimum 6-month commitment

Pay: $35–$45 per hour (paid per piece, depending on experience and speed)
