Your New Role
We are looking for an experienced Cook /Chef to play a pivotal role in supporting the Chef Manager at Racecourse Grange in Mornington.This is a part time postion . As the Cook / Chef you will be preparing meals to the highest quality, maintaining hygiene standards and assisting in creating varying menus to keep our residents excited.
Working as part of a team to provide meal services to all residents, assisting in the efficient preparation and delivery of meals.
You will enjoy working within our Better Together® social model of ageing well, which offers a continuum of care and support services for our Residents, within a range of accommodation options in one location.
What does your new role look like?
- Preparing nutritious meals, snacks and desserts to the highest standards
- Maintaining hygiene standards within the kitchen and adhering to health and safety procedures
- Assisting the Executive Chef Manager in developing new and exciting menu items
- Developing relationships with residents and their families, providing companionship at mealtimes and seeking feedback on menu improvements
- Ensuring stock levels are maintained and ordering completed in line with facility budgets
- Working with a friendly team of Cooks, Kitchen Hands and Food Service Assistants
- Working Saturday and Sunday each week 8.00AM to 4.00PM
About You
Above all, you will align to our Values of Bold, Warm and Honest. You will be able to demonstrate empathy and the ability to provide excellent care for your customers.
Does this sound like you?
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- A Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate (HLTFSE001) or willingness to obtain one
- A strong customer focus
- Experience in a similar role within Aged Care, Health Services or Catering advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of special dietary requirements/modified meals beneficial
- Fully vaccinated for COVID 19, including the Booster and 2025 Influenza
