About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.
Delivering quality medical services to improve the physical, spiritual, cultural, social and emotional wellbeing for families. MHS aspires to be a strong, sustainable and recognised health service that builds healthier communities and positive change for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and those who call Roebourne home.

The Position
The role of Disability Support Worker is to improve the lives of people who live with a Disability, including those from culturally, linguistically and gender diverse backgrounds, this will be obtained through empowerment, awareness, inclusive for individuals and their communities

The Requirements
Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or a related field or willing to obtain.
Must have working rights within Australia.
The ability to establish connections and form relationships with people who live with a Disability, their families and their extended community.
The ability to be respectful in a culturally sensitive manner as well as effectively within Mawarnkarra Health Service and other Disability Service Providers.
The ability to work independently in the community, and with your team at Mawarnkarra.
A strong commitment to the community, linking in with relevant events and compassion for people who live with a Disability.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, initiative, good judgment and extreme reliability.
Must have a non-judgmental approach to Individual supports.
Be approachable, positive and respectful.
Have the ability to cultivate professional working relationships within the Disability sector in the West Pilbara.
Have demonstrated skills to communicate culturally and appropriately with community members.
Respect confidentiality and build trust.
Comply with NDIS & MHS - Code of Conduct.
Manage potential conflicts of interest and if required seek assistance to do so.
Other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager
Other Requirements
Local language skills are advantageous.
Must hold a current NDIS Worker Screening when role is to work with those with a disability.
Consent to undergo a Western Australia Working With Children Check and a National Police Certificate. Employment is conditional pending the outcome of these checks.
Must hold a current Australian Drivers Licence.
Current CPR Certificate.
All employees are subject to regular random drug and alcohol screening.
Candidates must live local to the Roebourne area or be willing to travel / to relocate to be considered. Housing is not included for this role, and it is responsibility of candidate to source their own housing.
Remuneration Benefits include:
Hourly rate of $55.73
12% Superannuation
