The Shire of Exmouth is a vibrant and thriving community located in the stunning north-west region of WA. We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Finance Officer – Accounts Payable on a permanent full-time basis.

Reporting to the Manager Finance, this position is responsible for the provision of finance functions of the Shire of Exmouth, including but not limited to bank transactions, trusts, and accounts payable.

In this role you will ensure that purchase orders are matched with accounts payable invoices, reconciled, authorised, allocated, and paid in a timely manner along with end-of-month processes. You will also assist with audits, monitor employee entitlements, and maintain Councils Loan Register and process loan repayments.

To successfully fulfil the requirements of this role, you will have developed numeracy and computerised accounting skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ideally, the successful applicant will have a diploma in a relevant discipline such as accounting or business or working knowledge of accounts payable, procurement, and taxation requirements. It would be desirable for the successful applicant to have previous experience in Local Government; however, it is not essential.

What we offer: This position is classified as a Level 6 under the Shire of Exmouth Enterprise Agreement 2017, and comes with the following remuneration benefits;

• base salary of $73,250 per annum

• Housing allowance of $5,000 per annum

• Location allowance of $1,955 per annum

• Up to 21.5% superannuation (includes co-contribution by you)

• Regular RDOs and 5-weeks of annual leave

• Eligibility for long service leave after 7 years of service (conditions apply), uniform allowance, employee assistance program and other well-being services
