About the role

Mudgee Cranes is seeking a skilled Crane Operator/Dogman/Rigger to join our team in Mudgee, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of cranes, as well as performing dogman and rigger duties to support mining and construction projects in the local area.

What you'll be doing

Dogman:

Slinging loads safely and in accordance with lifting plans

Communicating with crane operators using hand signals and radios

Selecting and inspecting lifting gear and equipment

Guiding crane movements in tight or high-risk areas

Ensuring load stability and balance before and during lifts

Assisting with rigging setup and breakdown on-site

Following all site safety procedures and SWMS

Working closely with the crane crew and site supervisors

Crane Operator:

Operating Franna cranes to lift, move, and position loads safely

Conducting pre-start checks and daily inspections on equipment

Working from lift plans and following site instructions

Coordinating with Dogman and ground crew during lifts

Ensuring all lifts are carried out in accordance with safety regulations

Maintaining clear communication with team members via radio or hand signals

Transporting materials and equipment around site

Complying with site safety procedures and SWMS

What we're looking for

Relevant qualifications, including a Valid High Risk Work License (HRWL) for:

DG (minimum)

C6, C1, C0 (preferred)

WP, LF, WAH, CS (preferred)

Significant experience (minimum 3 years) operating a variety of cranes in a construction or mining setting

All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of an Order 43 Coal Medical to work on mine sites.

Excellent knowledge of crane operation, load calculations, and rigging techniques

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to assess and mitigate risks

Commitment to safety and a proven track record of safe work practices

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the construction crew

Flexibility to work overtime and on weekends as required to meet project deadlines
