About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Marine Yard Crew to join our team at Port City Fabrications' facility in Gladstone, Queensland. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to contribute to the smooth and efficient operations of our marine fabrication, repair workshop and slipway.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting with the slipping and lifting of vessels, antifouling, fibre glassing and associated works to complete projects within the yard and workshop
• Performing basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, sanding, fibreglass and minor repairs to equipment and facilities
• Supporting the fabrication and assembly processes by providing general labouring support as needed
• Ensuring the work area is kept clean, tidy and organised at all times
• Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a similar labouring or general yard role, ideally within a manufacturing or trades environment
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and instructions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent customer service
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work area
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual handling tasks throughout the day
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
