About the role
As part of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) Analysis, Intelligence and Risk team, the Monitoring Analyst works closely with the Prosecutions team to monitor enforceable undertakings, supervisory intervention orders and improvement notices with heavy vehicle operators.
Reporting to the Manager Analysis, Intelligence and Risk, you will undertake a high level of work orders, working daily with operators to monitor their compliance and ensure they’re meeting deliverables as a result of court outcomes.
Key responsibilities of this role are (but not limited to):
- Engage directly with industry with respect to NHVR regulatory instruments e.g., Court orders
- Manage dialogue between NHVR Analysis Intelligence and Risk Team, NHVR’s Prosecutions, stakeholders and industry
- Monitor compliance with NHVR regulatory instruments e.g., improvements notices as appropriate
- Track the effectiveness of regulatory tactics employed by the NHVR, including policy, investigations, and on-road contributions to NHVR strategic priorities
- Provide analysis for and contribute to tactical plans to support the effectiveness of regulatory tactics in affecting long term behavioural change
- Provide frameworks, templates and assist in the development of assurance plans to measure behavioural change post regulatory intervention
- Work autonomously and actively participate in multidisciplinary teams to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, customers and jurisdictional partners
About You
Working effectively to monitor the compliance with regulatory instruments across differing levels of heavy vehicle operators to ensure they are their court order requirements. You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and customer engagement experience. You will build rapport and have ongoing contact with the same operators for the duration of their order, which can be for 12 months.
Demonstrated experience in working with intelligence and creating reports is highly regarded. Proficient writing skills and great attention to detail are required to effectively prepare reports and analyses. You will also be confident in the use of Excel and analysing data.
Highly Regarded:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related intelligence field or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in the use and application of relational databases and data analysis tools for visual, temporal, and spatial analysis would be highly advantageous
- Experience in the development of methodologies to evaluate performance and effectiveness of strategies and tactics designed to effect behavioural change
- Experience in the intelligence field, coupled with education and/or training in the intelligence profession would be high advantageous
