About the Role

BiORG is looking for Technical Writers with hands-on experience writing publications and manuals in Defence Industry. As a Technical Writer, you will support a major Defence maritime project with a particular focus on electrical systems documentation. These roles involve the creation, development, and management of technical publications aligned with Defence and engineering standards.

You will work closely with engineers, subject matter experts, and project stakeholders to produce high-quality documentation that supports the sustainment and operation of complex systems.

These positions are based in Adelaide, with remote working arrangements considered for experienced candidates. The roles are ready to be filled immediately, with a targeted start date in late July or early August.

Duties:

Develop, review and update critical and routine technical publications

Working closely with subject matter experts, coordinators and project managers to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve project revision deliveries

Conducting quality and in process reviews and validation of technical publications.

Roles Available:

We have three roles available:

1x Senior Technical Writer (requires at least 5 years of experience in a relevant industry. Defence experience is highly desired)

2x Technical Writer (requires at least 2 years of experience in a relevant industry. Defence experience is highly desired)

About You:

You are experienced in technical writing with a strong background in Defence, engineering or electrical systems and a passion for creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation. You’re confident working independently or as part of a team, and have a keen eye for detail, structure and compliance.

You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and can engage effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather, interpret and present technical information to high standards.

You don’t need to currently be a Technical Writer – this opportunity is also well-suited to candidates with a background in engineering and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) within Defence Industry

Skills and Requirements:

Experience with technical documentation frameworks, preferably in Defence.

Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate technical documents (e.g. manuals, procedures, specifications).

Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer programs.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent written communication skills.

Ability to liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, project managers and clients to gather technical information.

Candidates must hold a current AGSVA NV1 security clearance or higher.
