Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation (AAC) is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation providing direct services to enable Aboriginal people to participate in employment and economic opportunities. With a presence in Perth and across the Pilbara region, our Head Office is based in Tom Price, WA. About the Roles
As a member of our Employment Services team, you will play a vital front-line role in supporting job seekers to become work-ready and connect with suitable, sustainable employment opportunities. These roles are exciting, challenging, and deeply rewarding, offering the chance to make a tangible difference in people's lives every day.
Employment Consultant/Employment Pathways Advisor
You’ll work closely with job seekers from a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, including individuals who are socio-economically disadvantaged or living with disability. Your work will also involve engaging with local employers to identify opportunities and create pathways to employment.
To succeed in these roles, you’ll need strong communication skills, a genuine passion for helping others, and solid administrative capabilities to manage client interactions and case records effectively.
Job Skills Officer
As a Job Skills Officer, you will work directly with job seekers to strengthen their employability and prepare them for the workforce. Your role will focus on delivering practical job-readiness activities, facilitating workshops, and providing hands-on support to help clients overcome barriers to employment.
This is a rewarding and front-line role, ideal for someone with strong people skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine passion for empowering others.
Mentor
As a Mentor, you’ll play a critical role in empowering individuals—particularly Aboriginal job seekers—by offering guidance, encouragement, and culturally respectful support. You will work closely with our Employment Pathways Advisors and broader Employment Services team to help clients build confidence, overcome barriers, and stay on track with their employment and life goals.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people (both Indigenous and non-Indigenous) with competing needs.
Strong administrative skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Competent in Microsoft Office with the ability to grasp other IT programs/databases.
