The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the VCAA in the Curriculum Division as Curriculum Manager, Capabilities until 19 December 2025.
- Salary: $138,631 - $162,076 pro rata (Plus Superannuation of 11.5%)
- Full time - fixed term role
- Usual hours of work: Full time, EFT 1.0
- Usual work location: East Melbourne 200 Victoria Parade
Role purpose
The purpose of the Curriculum Manager, Capabilities is to provide high level expertise, professional leadership, policy advice and project management for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) in relation to the curriculum areas of Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethical Capability, Personal and Social Capability and Intercultural Capability as described in the Victorian Curriculum F-10. The role also encompasses responsibility for the VCE Philosophy and VCE Extended Investigation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provision of curriculum expertise and leadership in the implementation of Victorian Curriculum F-10 Capabilities curriculum areas, VCE Philosophy and VCE Extended Investigation.
- Management of the implementation of VCE Philosophy and VCE Extended Investigation.
- Auditing of school-assessed coursework for VCE Philosophy and VCE Extended Investigation.
- Contribution to the revision of the Victorian Curriculum Foundation Levels A to D Capabilities curriculum.
- Development of resources to support stakeholders in implementing the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Capabilities curriculum areas.

Qualifications and Experience
Experience in curriculum development for school students and the delivery of professional learning programs, particularly in the design, delivery, implementation and evaluation is highly desirable.
