The Business:

Our client, a federal government is undertaking a major transformation, moving from a monolith/waterfall environment to an agile/microservices/cloud first model, where the focus is on providing scalable, secure yet flexible solutions

They provide a very flexible WFH centric model. At most you'd do 1 day/week in the office.

Being a federal government body, you need to be an Australian Citizen. Ideally you'll already hold a baseline security clearance

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Lead/Architect, you will bridge business objectives and technical implementation. Your leadership will foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across cross-functional squads delivering key departmental digital reforms.

• Lead and define the product family’s technical vision ensuring alignment with business goals and architecture strategies.
• Oversee technical delivery, manage risks, and drive architectural consistency across multiple squads and product families.
• Mentor engineers, promote engineering best practices, agile methodologies, DevOps, and site reliability engineering.
• Collaborate with product managers and delivery leads to prioritize work and embed engineering excellence.
• Champion innovation and user-centric digital solutions contributing to Australia’s economic recovery priorities.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor communicating complex concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven technical leadership within agile, cross-functional teams focused on delivering high-quality digital solutions.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, MS SQL Server, and cloud platforms such as Azure; knowledge of PaaS
• Excellent mentoring abilities fostering an inclusive and innovative team environment.
• Experienced with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and site reliability practices.
• Effective communicator skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaboration across multiple teams.
