Approach Consulting is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a Chartered Accounting practice in Canberra. In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the firm’s portfolio of client's, playing a key role in the preparation and lodgement of accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals and businesses. This opportunity offers exposure to a broad range of taxation services in a supportive and friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare personal and business income tax returns in compliance with current Australian tax laws and regulations
• Review financial statements and source documentation to compile accurate returns
• Conduct tax research and provide insights for client queries
• Liaise with clients to gather information and clarify tax matters
• Maintain accurate records to support all filings
• Assist with Business Activity Statements (BAS) preparation and submission

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Taxation
• Proven experience in preparing both individual and business tax returns
• Solid understanding of Australian taxation legislation
• High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Proficient in XERO and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a close-knit team environment
