The Role

As a dynamic EL 1 in the Industry Partnerships team, no two days will be the same!

Although you can expect to:

  • Work with GWEO project teams and the enabling areas across Defence and other government departments to deliver a sovereign GWEO manufacturing base;
  • Undertake supply chain mapping and related activities to understand, analyse and communicate the capability and development needs of defence industry;
  • Organise industry engagement events for the GWEO Group;
  • Develop and implement evidence based policy that supports establishment of the GWEO Enterprise;
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-level activities to support Ministerial and Cabinet level submissions, correspondences and briefs; and
  • Establish enduring relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.

You will to apply your expertise in policy, program and engagement across a diverse range of activities, supporting acquisition and sustainment of Defence capability. Occasionally you may also travel domestically to Defence trade shows, events and companies.

This role has been identified as requiring access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) controlled technologies. The ITAR is United States (US) law that controls the manufacture, sale, use and access of defence and military end-use articles on the United States Munitions List. It is the policy of the US to deny exports of ITAR controlled technologies to proscribed countries.

This may also apply to access by persons who hold or have held a citizenship, or current permanent residency, of said countries. Defence utilises workforce mechanisms to mitigate these restrictions, which will require applicants provide details of all current citizenships and permanent residencies, as well as previously held citizenships. Defence collects citizenship details to confirm an applicant’s eligibility for the role and to maintain compliance with international obligations.
