THE POSITION:
The Golf Course Branch is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team at Fairfield Golf Course. The position is responsible for the provision of front desk and shop related duties to all Golf Course players and members. This includes general reception and customer service duties including phone enquiries, cash handling, course bookings, selling memberships and general administrative duties relating to the role. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to work across golf retail, customer service, member engagement, competition management and golf cart & driving range operations.
2 permanent part time opportunities are available
- 1x 21 hours per week
- 1 x 16 hours per weeks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver outstanding customer service in the Proshop
- Maximise course usage through efficient tee-time bookings
- Promote retail offerings and maintain a clean, professional shop presentation
- Accurately handle transactions and stock using the Club's POS system
- Manage motorised and pull cart hire processes, including documentation and safety checks. Prepare, clean, and store golf carts as needed
- Maintenance of the driving range - picking up range balls and range baskets after use.
- Communicate course rules clearly and effectively
ESSENTIAL:
- Considerable experience in account reconciliation.
- Comprehensive experience in golf industry or similar.
- Comprehensive experience in cash handling and financial control systems.
- Comprehensive experience in customer service.
- Experience with sales and transactions using a POS system
- Customer service experience in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in retail and/or kiosk stock control
- Solid golf knowledge, including understanding of equipment, course play, and etiquette
- Available to work weekends and flexible hours as needed
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Permanent part-time position, 16 hours per week & 21 hours per week.
- This position is a Grade 2, with a commencing hourly rate of $35.07 per hour.
- Standard Hours of Work: Between 6am to 7pm Monday to Sunday. However, commencing and finishing times will vary and depend on operational needs. Initially the hours will be 7am – 5pm weekdays and 6.30am – 5pm on weekends. Extended hours in peak periods 6am – 10pm.
