As a Support Worker in Care Services, you’ll provide hands-on support to children and young people in out-of-home care, helping them access education, health services, and social activities. Your role will be vital in promoting resilience, wellbeing, and positive development through compassionate care and consistent support.
About the Role
As a Support Worker Care Services, you will:
- Provide practical day-to-day support and supervision aligned with individual care plans.
- Act as a positive role model to build self-esteem, skills, and resilience in children and young people
- Respond calmly and appropriately to crisis situations during service delivery.
- Promote safety, stability, and wellbeing for children and young people in foster care or living with family
- Work flexible hours to accommodate early pickups and late drop-offs

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification (or undertaking) in Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, Psychology, Welfare Studies or related field.
- Experience in working and building rapport with children and young people with complex needs/behaviours and ability to act as a positive role model/mentor.
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team, including staff and volunteer carers
- Victorian Driver’s license
- Understanding of the impacts of trauma on children and young people and knowledge of trauma informed care/practice.
