Our client is a national floorcovering wholesale distribution company servicing Australia for around 50 years. It prides itself in customer satisfaction by offering world class products delivered by their dedicated team.

This is a full-time opportunity at their Newcastle facility. Working as part of a small dedicated team you will be involved in the delivery of customers’ orders and when not out and about you will be assisting in the Newcastle warehouse.

This position will suit a person who likes variety. Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:

Truck Driver Responsibilities: 80%

• Daily inspection of vehicle, including scheduling planned services
• The organising and planning of delivery runs to ensure efficient delivery
• Ensuring the correct paperwork is completed
• The safe and correct loading of truck
• The delivery of goods to customers

Storeperson Responsibilities (when not performing deliveries) 20%

• the loading and unloading of stock
• Storing of stock in correct locations
• Operation of forklift
• General maintenance of warehouse equipment and ensuring warehouse areas are clean
• Assisting at front counter when required

To be considered for this position you will meet the following criteria:

• MR (Manual) License or higher and proven experience in driving a truck
• Have a current forklift license
• Excellent organisational skills
• A good phone manner
• Good computer skills
• Experience in the flooring industry will be looked upon favourably but not essential
