About the role

St Joseph's Primary School in Northcote, VIC 3070 is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Classroom Teacher to join our dedicated team on a full-time basis. This position is a parental leave contract commencing at the beginning of term 4, 2025. As a Classroom Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our primary school students, fostering their intellectual, social and emotional growth in a nurturing learning environment.

What you'll be doing

Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-based lessons across the primary curriculum

Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere

Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support their academic and personal development

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine teaching resources and practices

Participate actively in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your teaching skills

Contribute to the broader life of the school community through co-curricular activities and events

What we're looking for

Relevant teaching qualification and registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching

Experience teaching in a primary school setting, with a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents and colleagues

Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and cater to diverse learning needs

Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment

Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to the broader school community
